Good Death has been selected to take part in the annual ACTF (American College Theatre Festival) regional competition. This is a huge honor for the show and I’m so proud to have been a part of it. You can read the whole story on MLive – Entertainment.

Late Night Broadway Begins!!!

With all of the different rehearsals going on this semester, it’s been a little difficult to remember that it’s my year to do Late Night Broadway. This is a cabaret-style performance for Senior MTP’s to show off their stuff alongside a seasoned Broadway vet. Tonight was our first rehearsal with none other than the star of The Wild Party and Wicked… Julia Murney. While we were all a little nervous to meet her, we were pleasantly surprised to find that she is so fun to work with and down to earth. Carousel Review

I can’t believe how quickly this semester is flying by. Carousel has already opened to wonderful reviews. You can read the Kalamazoo Gazette’s review here. Also, don’t forget to pick up tickets at the Gilmore Box office. We still have shows at 8 p.m. November 14 & 19-21, as well as a matinee on Nov. 15 at 2 p.m in the Laura V. Shaw Theatre, Gilmore Theatre Complex, WMU. Tickets are $20 for regular admission, $15 seniors and WMU faculty/staff, $5 students $5 (269) 387-6222.

Carousel Rehearsal

Alright, so now that Good Death is up on its feet, it’s time to move on to Carousel rehearsals. We had our meeting with the crew today to see the set and it looks absolutely beautiful. We’re going to have actual, full-size carousel horses to that we can maneuver to make it look like there’s a carousel onstage. I’m so excited to ride them in the opening number!

Good Death – Tickets!!!!!

Don’t forget to stop by the Gilmore Box Office to pick up your tickets to Good Death. As we get ready to open the show, I’m just so excited to finally bring in an audience and introduce our work to the world. Initially, it seemed like the project would never come together in time, but it has come together. Actually, that’s an understatement. The show hasn’t just come together, it’s transformed from random interviews and research into a true work of art.

The show opens on October 9th, with shows at 8 p.m. Oct. 9-10 and 15-17, and at matinee at 2 p.m. Oct. 11. Tickets are $20 for general admission, $15 for seniors, and $5 for students. There will be a conversation with the cast and creative team following the Oct. 11 performance. Here is a video the theatre department has created as an introduction to the show.
